This is my shot at the HL2:DM contest. Simple layout, I have a
few neet thinks in here. While not in the screens I have a cool
wooden watch tower that breaks and falls over! HL2 is way
cool. I'll upload some screens soon.

looks sw337 and 1337. I look forward to playing in it. You need more texture transitions though. You never have just concrete that turns into a metal plate by a train of any sort there has to be something in between, like that yellow and black striped "CAUTION" stripe they paint that tells you to mind the gap.

Sorry to be so harsh, but the first screenshot just looks like a big jumble of props, and the brushwork is a little basic in places - but keep working at it as there's definitely potential there.
Also, the light on the ceiling of the train carriage doesn't seem to have a source...

Do a texture filter for 'strip' - there's a couple yah can use.
There's also a 'sign' texture that would work, though it has '6M' printed on the middle so you'd have to get rid of that somehow.

That first screenie is a total mess, you can't anything except this hulking generator thing, methink you could have picked a better location to take it from. What little I can see indicates some farily plain brushwork and I think your evironment lighting could do with some spicing up as well. Interior of the train looks nice, but as mentioned requires visible lighstources. In the other pic with train I think you could do with some more stuff in the backround, though I'm assuming thats because you've yet to do a 3D skybox. Showing promise though, keep going.

I had a similar thought regarding the first image - It seems a bit overwhelming. Great for SP, might be a bit confusing in DM. Got any ideas regarding layout, or better yet, an overview or sketch?

Still working on lighting, if any one can point me to a good tut that would help, Its crazy how diffrent lighting is... I cant get the hand of it, even the same type lights seem to do diffrent things.
I'm also putting some more brush work into the map.

stop taking pictures of static props.... take pictures of something you've made yourself like the other shots.
