Released my first map I've ever made today. Don't expect anything fancy, there's not much for scenery, but the action should keep you concentrating on surviving. I'm not sure if I will improve this map, but I might. I do plan on other HL2 stuff though. Comments are wanted!

Check out screens and get the map here:

http://www.snarkpit.com/maps.php?map=1613

or here:

Read the readme file included for install info!

Hope you enjoy,

StiffyLS

Well, it was funny. but it could have been a little more to do, than just be either inside the house, or outside. Maybe some underground tunnels and stuff. It was too easy in the beginning, and maybe you can make the map last a little shorter. I got bored pretty quick.
That map would be much more fun in multiplayer, but thats impossible i guess. Nice job for a first map.

I realize that this map does take quite awhile to play, with 200 soldiers in each wave of different classes, it can take up to 30 minutes to clear the first wave.. I wanted to make a map that was hard to beat, and I found my computer lagging big time when I had more than 12-16 Combines running over the hill, so I had to keep the maximum number of spawned combines low, and spread them out. Which in affect takes longer to get through the waves.

After you beat the first wave of Combines, it should get alittle more interesting, and alittle harder!

Hi I enjoy your map, and it inspired me to create a single player map of my own. The only problem I have is actually making an assault work, so I was wondering if I could have a copy of the .vmf file, so I could see how you did it? I'll give you credit for that part. Thank you.

Wow very Nice gameplay, i wonder if you can add more combines :P, much harder and a better challenge, i really LOVE it, so im waiting for another sequel for this type of SP, how about, you and you rebels lost in the middle of a LOST Jungle, with any kind of aliens attacking, lets say antlions, not bad ... if you know how to work on entities and scripts and what ever, then the SP thing is you work...Keep up the good work

Delicious map. Interesting tactics can be had when it comes to blocking windows and moving around the cars on the grass. <br> <br>Anyhow, I was wondering - can you post the .vmf of this map somewhere so that people attempting to make maps where enemies assault can learn from a successful map that does it? Thanks!

Hello guys, thanks for the comments! I noticed that Game Over doesn't work like it should, and I probably won't be fixing it, so when you see no more enemies, that's suppose to trigger the Game Over, but it's not. Alot have asked me for the Source file, and since I did this merely to figure out scripting and schedules, thought I'd share the way I did it. Feel free to change or add anything to this map, I also have a few cracks in the ground on the other side of the hill, that I couldn't get to sew together. So if you want a totally seamless displacement ground, you'll have to remake it. Download it here: <br><a href="http://home.neb.rr.com/thetoilet/CombineOnslaught_Source.rar" target="_blank">http://home.neb.rr.com/thetoilet/CombineOnslaught_Source.rar</a> <br>Enjoy!

TOTALLY awesome!! This is the type of map I'd LOVE to be able to make! I suppose you could add some more stuff here and there, but I'm having a BLAST playing it!! <br> <br>Edit: Oops, I was just begging for the .vmf, but I just read the rest of the comments and I see that you posted it.

A bit repetitive needs more variance can get a little boring after a few hours but still a very well done and beautifully made map
