I still think it's rather cartoony lookin' :P

The sky in particular adds that effect -- it's one, big, flat, color.

:P

Overall, it seems to be nice looking. I think the lighting is a bit too similar in too many areas (shadows don't look harsh enough in relation to the light, but that's just my lighting preference really)

The center of the streets looks a bit empty though. Once again: needs a bit more cover in my opinion.

I see nothing wrong if this is the result you were after when you began.

I also see nothing more noteworthy than a decently made Duke Nukem map either. Still not a bad thing considering how much fun I had playing and building maps for that engine.

What I would like to see is several shots with the r_speeds turned on.. (I assume this is the HL1 engine? If not then I'll settle for the FPS)

My only comment, and this one is superficial.. Your street layout looks like you took a bunch of cardboard boxes and lined them up flush with each other and painted buildings on them. Even cartoon buildings rarely line up so flush. Stagger them.

The best things in life, aren't things.

r_speeds haven't changed since the big pix.

Under 1000 everywhere, as specified in the TS mapping "rules".

TS is still going strong? I'd better reinstall.

I'm sorry, but like all the others said, your textures look way too clean te convince me this is an urban environment.

I like how he traded realism for style though.

Personally, I like the way this map looks. Sure, it's not realistic looking in the least, but it works for me.

I'm sure Orph will love that gif. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif">

It's looking very crisp, that third screenshot especially.

I can't say I like the texture of the ceiling in the first shot, but I've never been in a gay bar, so who am I to judge.

Also change the texture of the dock. Docks are rarely tile. -Facepunch

That's one sexy gaybar.

These office shots a few posts ago could also benefit from lighting that looks less fullbright. Maybe making the lights a little less bright or making one off here and there. Or try moving them closer to the walls so the light isn't so symmetric.

Good suggestion !

Compiling with the new lighting now.

Pix later, of course.

I'd download and install CS 1.8 to play this map.
