Currently my best map, rp_kappa_spacestation has been in development for over a month so far, and will probably take about a year to finish.

The whole thing takes place in a space station called "Kappa Space Station" (hence the name of the map ). Currently, the first sector is nearing completion, and screenshots will start going on the map profile. When the 3rd sector nears completion, I'll post links to screenshots (for the sake of more than 5 screenshots ), rather than upload them to Snarkpit.

(MUCH) more details can be found in the map profile.

Wow, a year to finish. I wish I had had the patience to ever finish a map.

Good luck, sounds interesting. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

The picture does not tell me much. It does not look like a space station. Please post some more screen shots <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">.

Like I said, I don't have anything thats close enough to the final to post screenshots of. As for the one screenshot that is there, I promise the map will be much better than that (I've redone the lighting colors to look more futuristic). I'm also working on some models, so I'll add those in when they're finished.

It's definitely a more unusual theme. How those rp-maps work has always been a mystery to me, though. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

If you want some design ideas for your space station map you should go here http://nikon.bungie.org/misc/halorama/?p=h2 and look at the first set of pictures. I give credit to you for breaking away from the half-life 2 theme which most custom maps are these days.

By the way the new screenshots are better than the last one. Getting there.

Yea, the yellow lighting I started out with was UGLY, but it's been changed to a more futuristic blue. Also, I managed to find a good mapper/texture artist, so he'll help me out with development.

EDIT: I'm starting to run into Source engine limits, such as lights, so some of the minor features will have to be cut.

EDIT EDIT: I seemed to have forgotten about dynamic lights, but I might be lazy and keep them out. :P

EDIT:

I'm currently taking a break and will probably give the project to a friend to work on.

EDIT EDIT:

I won't be able to start it again until the summer, because I've got a huge computer science project to work on (first person shooter from scratch in 3 weeks )

EDIT EDIT EDIT (...):

Now I've got a job, private lessons (orchestra), tutoring, and gymnastics, so now my summer is limited!

OK the map is going to be on pause for a while now, because I've had a mod idea collecting dust for about a year now, so I'm working on that instead.

Wow.. the memories..

So have you made any progress since the last set of screenshots?

I haven't made a whole lot of progress, mainly because I'm dedicating most of my time to the mod. However, a couple of the models/textures from the mod can be reused for this map, such as the train rails.

EDIT: (so many friggin' edits!) I've started back on the map. Also, check the map page - I've made a couple of changes.

Haha, you can tell Riven has been through it. As I said on your other map, waiting for more media, the two screenshots don't look bad.

Well, don't worry. I guess we all have year-old map map-skeletons on our harddrives.
