I love the lighting in this game.

Good stuff, makes me wish I had Left4Dead. This particularly interests me at the moment seeing as how I'm working on a small zombie/night mod.

I wonder if I can rip the skybox from this map, with a bit of photoshopping to darken it up, that'd really suit my mod!

You can really see how much they have refined and tweaked and polished the environments in the first two screenshots.
