I don't know why you are bothering to defend killbox, but maybe if you spent a fraction of the effort it takes you to type all that out and instead put it in your maps you might create something worth downloading.

Umm why couldnt you make a REGULAR dm map and then have a DUELING arena away from it " this is my idea back off = P"
Edit: whiteleigon or whatever his name was said the same thing in an unoffensive way

ok i wasted my time and tried it
ALSO " there is a thing called strategy rhino its an additive to the game that keeps it from being sensless and boring violence its what makes 2fort one of the best "small yet has many different routes" yours has no routes therefor possibilties are quite limited and gets boring much quicker. The reason why it stays is for people who are younger and have no knowledge of the so called skill and strategy . Make a strategical map and release it because all of us can make a killbox for "ourselves" and do not need one of yours.

Now that that has all blown over, i hjave but one thing to say....

WTF?

How you intepret this is up to you, and who i am directing this comment toward is obvious. Take your box of crappiness elsewhere, i dont care if some fools think they can have fun in a giant box of idiocy.

We are not buying it, you claim this is a remake, HA, this thing was never MADE in the first placed, it was simply, produced by some simple commands known to the most newbish of nOObs, there is no skill or artistic talent in this or the original, oh and as for most downloaded and played? There are 9 billion people in the world, only a handfull of whch have braincells.

Take your wares elswhere we do not wish to see any more boxes within boxes.

Now that thats out of the way, good luck in the contest, i wont be entering sadly, as im not 18, but i hope to god that noone even thinks of entering something as godawful as this.

I bet that's why it's rated 2.3/10 by everyone. The map is just way too good for us.

Yes, but basically, it's crap. It's a waste of time. Give up mapping. Honestly. It'll do you some good.

I'd bet the people that rated it a "1" didn't even play it and if they did they definitely weren't objective. I guarantee it.

I also like how most of you zealots can't even follow the sites comment rules to "...only post helpful comments such as corrections or additions...". It's one thing to totally ignore my reasons for making/publishing the map, but another to dishonor the rules of the site/community you so religiously represent as members. The maturity level here is absolutely abysmal.

Um, no, not really- the real reason is that I don't "hang out" in killbox discussions.

And you know what, it doesn't matter if none of us have actually played this map, as it's far from original or unique, which thankfully you acknowledge. How many times do you think we've seen 6 walls with the occasional box, platform and RPG placed inside it, and got bored after two minutes? And what do you think you're contributing/gaining by making such a thing?

Plus your arguement that "killbox is the most played and popular map ever" is flawed, as many thousands of brain dead fools have made and played their own "killbox"- it's not the same one level!

Anyway, people here have as much right to have a go at what you're made as you have to defend it. And if I was really so anti- what you've done, then this would have been deleted already...

Ahahahaha, you stupid bastard. Even SomethingAwful hates your 'map', for exactly the same reasons we stated here. Even better is that the reviewer isn't a mapper at all, just a random guy who likes to play HL2. Read it and learn.

Killbox gets boring pretty easily. Yes, it is fun playin it for the first time. I've played lots of killbox maps in HLDM before, and I enjoyed it! But, this is HALF-LIFE 2! It looks so fugly playing a Boxie map with the beautiful Source engine.

You don't have to say "Play this map first!" and I already know this map is fun! Sure it's fun, but how long? It won't last forever. And I hate your behaviour. You're bitching here just to defend Killbox map. The community will hate you if you never agree with them. Don't even think about come to HLFallout.

Pretty bland. You could have actually done something to make the map deserving of the title 'reloaded'.

For instance, you could have added more props, made the walls look nicer/more detailed, and maybe added a few more platforms.

This is an insult to the source engine, i'm sorry to say.

Perhaps you could have even made a glass roof and made some sort of skybox above it, so it wouldn't look so fugly and crampy.

This thread has been going way to long, but I'll chime in too. I applaud Rhino's map and attitude. He's not trying to impress anyone with his killbox; he's just keeping it alive and playable for future generations of confused kids. It's a pretty faithful remake, and that's all that matters. I've been reamed for remaking a map and not "sprucing it up" to the level that HL2 maps "should be." Keep it up, man.

I love the fact that a map submitted in 2004 is still getting bashed in 2006. I doubt rhino is still lurking around though.
