I am wanting to play Opposing Force on Sven Coop but when I try to install the support it says that it cannot find opposing force.gcf. I gathered that you get this from the Steam version, which I do not have, BUT:
When I try to install it the dialogue box says "Opposing Force Map Support for NON-STEAM installations, so what is the problem?
But the opfor map does appear in my map list and when I try to run it this error comes up:
ED_ALLOC No free edicts
The installation said to put this argument in the target: -num_edicts 3072
but it still does not work.

This error comes up for some of the other levels too. Any idea why the command does not solve the issue? The download said that this is the solution, so why does it not work?

I found out the the no free edicts error comes from too many entities, which is why it needs to be increased. But I also found out that the installation said the -num_edicts 3072 needs to be the argument in HLDS, but I want to play on LAN and not go through that. So does this mean that the command will not work when running it through the custom games list?
So is there any way around this? Thanks.

I found somewhere that they said there is not a fix for non-Steam version,
(The edicts command is even written in the liblist.gam file, but I guess it still does not matter)
BUT then why would the opposing force campaign support say for NON-STEAM users?!
Probably nothing that could be done then but if anyone would still have suggestions then I would still be open.
