Is there any way to play a sound to each player who enters your map?
The exact same sound would be playing for each person but I don't want
everyone to hear it when somebody enters.

Sorry, it's for the competition map so it has to work in hldm. Thanks anyway though.

I've never seen a map have a sound play to a single client only, so I doubt it can be done

i know. that was me poking a stick at HL for being so single-player oriented.
but i suppose that that isn't surprising, it is a single player game.

Make an ambient generic and give it a name of game_playerjoin. I haven't tested it but it should work.

Well it definatly works when a player oins JFry, amd I am pretty sure that it will only play to the player. This is the start sound on my map

You might want to cut off the noise at the end. Just a thought
Also, since WON is practically annihilated, its probably safe to switch completly over to mp3 formats, since Steams supports them fully

It says Half Life teamplay, but the topics are valid for standard HLDM as well

Yea, I thought there was a small sound at the end, also when it played in game it wasn't loud enough even though being on 10, I just re-recorded it, its a bit longer and louder
[ without the noticable sound at the end].

Thanks for the help guys. I marked your answers right but I don't think
they're actually getting counted anymore so no snarkmarks for you.
