** Parameters: "C:Program FilesValve Hammer Editormapsdod_thisisatest.map" "C:Program FilesValveSteamSteamAppsjamesmayes@comcast.netday of defeatdodmapsdod_thisisatest.map" [snip] It compiles but no BSP is generated in my Program FilesValve/Steam/SteamApps/useraccount/DayofDefeat/dod/maps folder |
First off, you seem to be compiling into one folder, and looking in another. Might be a typo, but worth mentioning.
Secondly, do a Windows search for your BSP, search everywhere, see if it's being generated at all.
Thirdly, you two, keep it to the PMs m'kay?

My compiled maps get placed into the Hammer/maps folder. Then I put the BSP into the proper folder. Before when it wasn't generating a BSP I had Hammer setup so that it would place the compiled maps into the SteamApps/useraccount/DayofDefeat/dod/maps folder.
And yes I did a complete HD seach of before for the BSP and it never came up with anything.

| Dude, just use RMFs for working with a map in Hammer. If you use a front end compiler interface, just export it to a map before you compile, if not, who cares? Hammer exports it already. Hammer has issues with .map files, most people in this thread have pointed that out .... so ... take a hint and try using RMFs (that way you can use vizgroups too) |
What version was he using to begin with?
[addsig]
He has got a specific reason for wanting to open the map file. I don't want to go digging to the thread to find it, but he previously stated that he is using the .map format to check for brushes which are not aligned to the grid.
I don't have anything else to offer to this topic. My advice to you Spartan, is to simply be careful in construction so that you don't have verticies off-grid to begin with.
