When I make doors they always slide up or down and side to side. I have never figured out how to make doors like in real life.

Ok, first, make the brush that will be the door (i suppose you know how to
)
Then you find the texture ORIGIN, and make it a "hinge" on the side it wan't to rotate. it opens where it's no ORIGIN. okey, next step:
Make the ORIGIN and door to a func_door_rotating and set some properties. at the speed i would recommend 80 [addsig]

Make it a func_door_rotating. Use the origin texture on a brush (like a little block) to signify where the door will pivot from. Be sure to include the origin brush in the entity. (Place it where the hinge would be)
The origin brush will be invisable when rendered so you won't have to worry about the look of it.
Play with the speed settings and flag settings to get the door to work properly.
Choose a nice squeeky door sound and your compleate.
