My VHE .map export function works perfectly fine.
Try re-installing or re-downloading your copy of VHE, or possibly go to the Collective and see if anyone else has posted similar issues and complain. ![]()

Did you overwrite your VHE 3.4, becuase the last i heard of you had to do that to run the 3.5 beta. I could be mistaken for somthing else though. My suggestion of the day: Don't use 3.5 to compile or to map in yet, but use it to view models. ![]()

well...
1) Don't compile in Hammer no matter what version.
2) Make sure you've installed 3.4 then use the 3.5 .exe (I personally have both)
3) This shouldn't be a 3.5 issue, I've been doing this for a while now, and never had problems, so a solution should be near.

you guys are missing the point, VHE is not exporting anything to his map file..
my suggestion, if you have another drive.. move everything there, just long enuff to try again.. i have moved my hammer all over hell and it works every time..
i even used it from the cd rom once with no issues..
i am betting you have a corrupt VHE.. in the beginning, there was a report of one going around.. try to obtain another copy and installing it to another drive, being sure to move all relevant items..
leave HL where it is, just have VHE put the files (rmf and map and bsp) into a folder on that other drive, then move them later to your maps folder..

I will download VHE 3.4 and use that one again.
Gorbachev, trust me, I dont use VHE's compiler, I never did.
Orph, I'd like your sugestion, but I only have 1 drive, and less you want me to gsplit everything to the A drive, which, could take a few hundred disks cause my folder is about 200megs.

Hmmmm, you say the file size is normal on your .map files. If so try checking for problems on the rmf file. Also try clicking compile on the rmf, which will automatically generate a .map file which u can then open, that way VHE won't create the .map file.
If that doesn't work try reinstalling Hammer, if that doesn't work post up the rmf to your map, there may be something wrong with it.

I'm having this exact same problem Wildcard. VHE was working fine a week ago, now all of a sudden it won't let me export to map. When I try to it just sits there thinking for about 4-5 seconds then VHE crashes. There isn't anything wrong with the rmf because I tried older maps that have had no problems before and it does the same thing. I've also installed a new copy of VHE 3.4 (was using beta 3.5) and it still does it.
Curses, just when uni finishes and I'm already to map up a storm, this happens!
