My problem is that, I need a Tentacle to die, after a set explosion. By Tentacle I mean that big green thing that hears you when you run, I have already done all the explosion as a fuel pipe is going to blow up, but the tentacle never dies!
Is there a way that I can kill it like in the chapter Blast Pit or something but without the weird thing in the bottom of the pit? I have the magnitude of the explosion of the pipe (a func_breakable) at 1000, but I've tried making it a stupidly high amount, which didn't work. I thought that an aiscript might do something, but doesn't. I know the Tentacle has normally unlimited health, it does temporally die, going back into the ground for a couple of seconds, but I need it to die fully, never attacking or moving again, but also not just still in midair.
Thanks!

not sure offhand, but have you tried naming it and triggering it?
and can't some entities "killtarget"? though that might just make it disappear totally, instantly, rather than 'die'. some pyrotechnics and gibshooters could compensate for that, though
Alternatively you could watch some hentai for ideas

Well, triggering it is funny but doesn't work and HL1 gets confused.
As for the killtarget, that would work, because the explosion actually makes the tentacle go away into its hole or whatever for a couple of secs, meaning perfect timing would show it going back in, and never coming back out :P then the gibshooters would work a treat as well.
Thanks for the help! I'll post with info if it works or not, I also intend on posting my map when done. So look out for it!

It didn't work like it should have, nothing happened, I fixed other things, but this has truley stumped me, any more ideas? Is there a way I can move it to an empty room at the edge of the space allowed?
