Between Photoshop and Painter you can create just about anything.

A free alternative is GIMP, which is very close to the same functionality of Photoshop. [addsig]

Paint Shop Pro came with XP? Did you get a bundle or something? I personally use a combination of both programs, they each have their ups and downs. [addsig]

The Gimp > Paint Shop Pro, imho.

And uh ? Paint Shop Pro's not in the official bundle with Windows XP. The only image editing program that comes with it is MsPaint

well with offical bundle xp im sure paint shop pro didnt come with it. must be the dell thing. i think they should through it in free. damn thing is costing me and arm and a leg. haha. and i dont know how ill use my comp if it does.

hyper threading is a cheap way to avoid multipul cpus. A computer with it, has very, very, little advantage over a computer without it.

Except that the compile tools actually support hyperthreading... I bet it gives you some benefits there

I use PSP for lots of stuff, but I have found that it is quite buggy. Lots of random crashes and such...

i can do most things that i want with psp7. the things that i can't do is from lack of knowing how to, rather than the prog sucking. which i'm sure it does compared to photoshop, or photoshop is just way overpriced. either way, i get by just fine with psp. i had a trial version of photoshop, but it seemed like far too much to learn for my needs.

paint shop pro 8 is 84 bucks compared to like ten million for photshop.

i clicked on thier site and went back off like 2 secs later....6 hundred some dollars. wow.

i have a trail of 7 and it works great.

yeah decent sized map i been working on and using bat files to compile and running it in sparse mode works very nicely.

but im getting 8.....gonna be a good texture artist too.....
