I'd like to start coloring my drawings using Jasc Paintshop but I'm still a mega noob to paintshop so I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of some good image coloring tutorials for Paintshop. I'd also like some advice if you got any.

Thanks.

Well, these aren't painshop, but, they're programs with the same basic abilities.
(I believe one is PhotoShop 3, so, you can easily reproduce it in any newer program)

http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/mainscreen.html

There's other sites, but, they're people who follow his tutorials (Also, he has a forum which I hear is really good. http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/mainscreen.html)

Other then that, try to find specific instructions on how to do things. Like, find someone talking about how to use channels and layers, not in how to use them to color a drawing, but in general. Adapt that type of knowledge to what you're doing.

Such as, I'm not sure about painshop, but, in PS (and several other programs), you can select all the white area of a layer through channels.

Take a look around for specific things, google it if you'd like. [addsig]

One of the first things I am going to buy when the assholes at Winn-Dixie finally hire me is going to be a digital art pen and pad for the computer. I checked them online and most cost around $100 but I'd like to know which companies make good pens for a good price. I'm sure there is atleast one person here who would know this kinda stuff.

I already have PSP 8. Thanks for all the help guys. I use to take art classes a few years ago but painting a bowl of fruit every Wednesday ruined the fun of art for me. I am trying to get back into sketching again and reimprove my skills.

Wacom, hands down. (they're called tablets by the way)

If you're planning on using it for drawing I'd suggest an Intuos 3 (they're about $200, however). Graphire 3's (4x5) are $100, but, they have less pressure levels.
I'd suggest a 6x8 tablet. In which case, Graphire is $200 and Intuos 3 is $330. 4x5 really isn't worth the price because the area (for me) is much more difficult to use. (I have a graphire 3 4x5 and I'ts difficult.)

Check http://www.wacom.com
You can probably buy them at Best Buy or Office Depot or some place. [addsig]

Any tablets under $200. I'm a poor artist.

Yes, they're not worth it though. I even explained why.

You can get a Graphire 3 for $100. That's about it.
You can even use thier site for tablet suggestions. I put in basic "art" stats and as I imagined (from use by the way) they suggest the Intuos 3.

The only thing I can say is, you won't be disapointed with that tablet. Either, go to some stores and ask to use the tablets (compare it to an Intuos if they have one set up) and see which you like. Other then that, I'd suggest saving money up.

Personally, I'm going to sell my tablet and get some more money and purchas an Intuos. They're pretty nice, I've used them at my school a few times. Even the older ones blow away the tablet I have. [addsig]

Yeah. Not with a tablet though. I scanned it in and blacked it up with Photoshop, and I colored it too, but the black and white version looks so much better. It was for an art project a couple years back. [addsig]

I tried coloring images with a mouse but it's too difficult. I scanned a drawing of mine and colored it in and now it's my avatar. The quality still isn't as good as yours though.

I find it MUCH easier to specifically color with the mouse even if you draw, dodge, and burn with a tablet.

My stuff isn't THAT good. Believe me putting in those shadows really improved it. [addsig]
