We have all been there, a boring lecture, the teacher just talking n talking n talking.
I always end up doing some skteches..

heres a starter.. .now post yours

There is a lack of value, I would look into that. The body looks great, I have a hard time drawing people unless I have a refrance (even then I'll make their head too small or somethign! arg!) His legs look a bit odd, the right lefg (his right) is pointing down when it should be pointing at the viewer.

Work on shading and use of grey value, that can be done with any pencil. Start on the bold lines of the object or character and smoothly fade a grey scale from the bold line towards the inside of the object. I'll upload some examples, or you could google "drawing value" You'll blow yourself away becuase the object will just pop out of the picture at you.

Thats almost 3 years of art classes summed up right there.

Here's two things I sketched when I was bored in class one day. I

The first one is a crappy sketch of some rocks.

This second one is another quick sketch I did of a valley I come up with in my head.

This was done in a class, think art class with a live model, only everyone was behind a computer! lol

Dr.G That second picture rocks. I <3 it.
I'd only suggest cleaning up the left side and making all the outlines nice and varying thickness, yet neat. [addsig]

Nice style Dr.Glass. Some of my favorite artists have very messy, energetic stlyes - very cool.

Nice werk glass very stylish sketch on that nun real nice.

Did a bit of photoshop werk a while back ill post if i can find it some time.

Btw ur a fellow metal head right what bands u into??

Meself a bit of pantera/metallica to top up the old skool side and mebbe in flames, machinehead for the present, and definitely steve vai, joe satriani, and malmsteen for the future

I dont tend to draw when I'm bored in class cos I'm on a art course co I tend to trawl the web finding sites that I'm banned from seeing.

but the art that I have done and am proud of (but still not happy with cos I'm never happy with my work) are in this thread [addsig]

Here's a cool pic I did in school. My faces aren't the greatest so I was trying to see how well i could make a posterish looking pic. The color I added later when I scanned it in but you get the idea. I'll upload some other one's I've done later. Mostly superheros and such...

Funny I should stumble across this thread today, as I just uploaded a picture of a tiny doodle I did in class. Anyway, I'm in a lit theory class that is beyond mind-numbing. It inspired me to draw this small picture:

The purple one? I could make it into a wall paper if you want, I keep my source files quite large.
