Concept art is an important stage in a game's development, and there are definitely a lot of great artists out there working for game companies and mods. I wanted to share two concept drawings, and I was wondering if anyone else had any favorite concept drawings.

holy crap! when I saw the topic I thought "consept art... HW2 is the best stuff"

I just did some research and it turns out it's a guy named Rob Cunningham. Check out this page: http://www.well-of-souls.com/homeworld/hws/hw2/concept.htm

There are a few different artists, but I matched up those 2 images with Rob Cunningham.

Some really good stuff on that page. I'm going to go save them to my computer now.

Edit: Just finished saving all his artwork, and started talking to my friend who goes to Pratt... and showed him Rob Cunningham. In response he sent me here: http://www.conceptart.org/

That site blew my mind. Have you heard of it Dr. Glass? It's really really amazing.

whoa thanks for the link atm, i love concept art, it makes me wanna model some more stuff, i like this one the most, it looks like something that could be combine stuff.

That's a nice one... its got that funny falcons logo on the side.

Have you played Homeworld 1 or 2?

no i never played homeworld, i gotta say that it looks like a nice game, but my gaming uncle who provides me games havent been around for some time and im low on money, so i cant purchase it and try it out.

I was just wondering because the art and visuals in that game are stunning. The ships look great too. Unfortunately I never really got into the gameplay. Too much resource collecting and army buildup... not enough action.

I love homeworld for that, I play Warcraft 3 from time to time and I hate how fast it goes, by the time you get a nice little town build up and have a respectable army you get killed.

I like the big fleet thing, having all those ships looking all sexy, then after hours of building up a massive army and a defensive feild you stage a massive attack!

then get crushed by some 13 year old becuase you forgot to reserch armor lvl 12 and he didn't....
