Terry Crews is greatness. But not fat ... you should slim him down.

Well, I'm not really modeling Terry Crews just using his face. But I also think that this character and Terry Crews are relatively as bulky as each other except for the arms.

Bahaha. On a side note I was actually using Old Spice before all the ads came out and went viral.

Hardly. He's a fairly cut dude.

Hah that's cool, and I checked out the ModDB page too. How are you going to model those monsters?
Here's the latest on what I'm up to.
I started my character model, Lollipops the pimp, again:

Did a bit more on my Lava Lamp Scene:

And made a low poly, pretty generic and shitty tree late last night as an experiment for using my own photos for textures. My next tree is gonna be way better:

Hah awesome and a little weird
Why a pimp I must ask?
Looks like a decent render though. Nice reflections and whatnot... Will you be reposing him in some fashion? Where do you go from here?

Bahaha, I just thought it would be cool to model a pimp.
That pose is just his default pose used for still renders. I've rigged it up and created a few animations that are being used for a collaboration project (an animated short film our class is doing for one of our subjects graphics).

Oh? that sounds pretty cool. Will we ever get to see it here?
As far as art goes with me, I started painting with my 3-year-old tablet I never used but meant to. I've been reading through some books to learn the basics of digital art painting and I spent 10 hours this past weekend working on something I think I can be proud of. It's not finished, but it certainly has met a substantially complete phase that until I get better I may not return to finish. I'm still learning a lot of the basics about lighting and shading. Things I thought I knew until actually trying to figure a scene out.
The scene is not my idea, but I did work on it from a white canvas and no sketches. The point of the particular tutorial in the book was to practice free hand art. Something as an architecture student I don't normally do. (I prefer straight edges
). And also getting used to the way Photoshop deals with brushes and opacity (and pen pressure).

My assignment for graphics due at the start of February. Still a lot of missing details on the ship and the hull texture doesn't look right imo.

Agh, I forgot to respond, sorry about that.... Thanks for the nice comments.
Yea I probably could if I worked a bit longer on it. But it was a teaching lesson, and I think I learned what I needed to out of it. On to the next painting...eventually. I'm currently working on my print portfolio I'll be sending off next week to a grad program I'm interested in. I'll reveal that if I get accepted
Beyond that though, I finished my paper snark! And I must say, I think it looks a lot better than the one the guy made himself!

I increased the scale just a little bit, so it's more life-size!
I think I'm gonna look for that program that can unwrap models, this took about 6 hours to cut out and glue properly. I placed a stack of pennies in it for weight. It was a lot of fun, and I like displaying it. Friends think it's cool even though they don't know what it is.

Wait a sec, where's it beak/mouth thing?

Also, is that Spore I see in the background of one of those pics? If so, just how is that game?

Yea, no beak
Spore? I don't recommend it. I was all over it, and couldn't wait for it to get released. That's the "galactic edition" and it was a big let-down. I thought it was going to have so much more gameplay than what ended up being in it. After reaching the space stage, there wasn't much to do that kept it fresh.
Other than the cell stage and the creature creator parts of it, I didn't replay the game too much.
