Cool. It looks however as if the arch is the only unique part. The base is just modified wall.

Still, a nice reproduction.

Well done.

Hehehe, thats cool! Looks like the smoothing is a little awkward around the back arm thing (?) on the low poly version, but its not too bad. The spikes are also a little wierd looking, but as a first effort its very commendable. Keep it up man you're getting some great modelling skills!

I dunno. He either looked better without the legs, or the fact that you attached them wrong is throwing me off. Try 8 legs, and add an abdomen.

Tell you what, if someone could create a model of the leaches in King Kong.. Those would look great in a map.

I hate to be a prick but, XAT can get those simple black and white screens down to 40k.

Yes, this is an arts thread, so I am hesitant but, simple B/W screens shouldn't be 100+k

Use your own judgment.

I know you're not going to work on that model anymore, but he looks really top heavy.... like if you pushed him he'd just fall to the ground.

If you just had the legs coming out near the head I think it would look cooler, like a deformed spider. But that's just me. Good job overall, <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Technically, it's a very nice model and a great job for somewhat of a novice modeler. I would say (as others have hinted at) the biggest problem is the actual functionality of the creature. That's what throws me off - at first glance, i'm not sure exactly what this guy does. Does he bite with his face? Does he shoot laser beams from his tiny arms? He looks like a spider, but doesn't have mandables...hmm. He has a human'ish torso, yet no hint of muscle structure that would allow him to bend or pivot.

You want to figure out what this guy does, and push the art and construct of him to support and sell that vision, so that poeple 'get it' instantly.

Don't worry, I've done plenty a drawing or model that didn't have much forethough, turned out kinda cool looking, but ultimately failed for lack of focus.

Keep it coming.

Just my thought:

Move the legs up to an abdomen and you'll be fine.

Monsters don't have to look like they have a purposeful design but it helps.
