Found this great tool on the Internet called Apophysis (google it for the link) that creates fractal images for you with out have to know any of the formulas. I found it great and the qualit images this thing creates, based on settings you choose, is excellent. Infact, it allowed me to recently create some more abstract art that, this time, had noting to do with a 3d editor. All I used was Apophysis and Paint Shop Pro (For after effects to make it a bit more active.)

The quality on this thumbnail is terrible, but check out the full image.

This tool is great for a lot of things. I mean, check out the effect this guy did to his photoshop peice.

You could probably take an average pic and mix in a couple of these with masks and effects to create a great peice of work.
