Assisted Answer
Don't worry tnkqwe, this is normal.

Programs use memory(ram) to temporarily store information, imagine working on a complicated mathematical equation, memory would be like the scrap piece of paper we do our working out on.

How much memory programs use is dependent of a few factors including the program itself and everything it needs to load (how big the map file is, models, textures etc), how long the program has been running and how much available memory you have. If there is alot of available memory than programs will use up more so that they run faster.

You can expect Hammer to use alot of memory because it's a 3D application like a game and it caches alot of data such as models and textures. Caching is basically loading the files onto the ram so it can be retrieved faster, loading files from the hard drive is alot slower.

If your concerned about your memory usage you can increase your page file size which is basically ram using your hard drive (page file reserves space on your hard drive to use as ram in case the actual ram runs out). However page file is slow because it uses your hard drive which is much slower than ram.
