Are there little groups of artists teaming up to make maps at all?
I would like to contribute for a DM map, ideally.

Long time ago I made once a CS map (which I no longer play). And I've been lately feeling like getting back to map making, but for HL2 DM.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

DPC

If you want some collaboration work you can try asking people here at Snarkpit or over at Interlopers and Mapcore. There's actually a collaboration project going on at the moment here where we're making a huge multiplayer map with spaces designed by multiple people including myself. Ask Riven about that but it's in the finishing stages so there's probably no more work left on that.

There are a few "studios" out there with teams of artists and designers that make high quality multiplayer maps for hl2dm taking up to a year to develop but I can't remember them off the top of my head, I'll get back to you on that. smiley

You might also want to check out ModDb, I'm sure you can join a team working on a multiplayer mod for hl2dm or a hl2dm map pack.

Oh, how perfect! Yes, Aaron is correct! We do have a small section that needs construction. I can pm you with the details later this week!

It's for our Compilation Map Project, which you may read all about here

Hope to hear from ya! smiley

Well, the compilation map project sounds kinda perfect for you!

My first thought when you talked about collaborating, though, was whether you had a special field of expertise? Texturing, modeling, sound design? The source engine especially, seems to be built around the idea of having separate layout/modeling/texturing/etc teams, yet it is seldomly done outside semi-professional mod teams.
