I am having a problem getting my block's to snap to the grid in my current map.

I have tried
Shift+W Toggle grid snapping on/off.
Ctrl+B Snap selected objects to grid (based on selection bounding box).

I have gone under the map section and made sure there was a check on the snap to grid section but my blocks will not snap to grid.

If I open a new file the snap to grid is working again.
just cant get it working for my current map.

Did you check the grid resolution?

Try going down to 1 grid unit and seeing if anything is off THAT snap, and if it is, move it over so it can line up normally.

Chances are, you made something on a smaller grid unit and currently you're viewing 64 unit or something. Meaning, it doesn't align to your current view settings, therefore it can't snap to it. Or there's stuff hanging off.

If this is the case: the best practice is to work only in one or two resolutions. Like, 32 and 1 for fine details. That way stuff shouldn't get misaligned when you're working on it.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

This is what I used to do. Put a player start somewhere in your map to get a feel for scale. Set your grids so that the player start looks normal. IE 16 grid I think.

This will help you avoid going off grid, and it will help you to build to scale. Something you will definitely need to bear in mind at all times.
