When I was mapping for Portal 2, I used some Light Textures to emit light, instead of using the light entity.
Now when I am mapping for Left 4 Dead 2, they don't seem to work, even if I can clearly see the icon below the texture that explains that it should emit light. But really they are just plain dark.
Anyone know what to do? Thanks a lot!

What did your lights.rad say?
I assume they are still using one for the newer game?

These are some lines that I got from the compile log that have something to do with Lights.rad
In the beginning of the log:
[Reading texlights from 'lights.rad']
[59 texlights parsed from 'lights.rad']
And throughout the rest of the log I found:
[Reading texlights from 'lights.rad']
[2 texlights parsed from 'lights.rad']
quite a few times.
I cannot find anything out of the ordinary.

You need to look at the lights.rad file. Not the compile log. Be sure the textures you are using are in it and have settings high enough to emit light. usually its about 1,000.Orpheus

Wish there was a way to agree or like a post, because Orph is right, and I like that post.

Thanks Orph, that works indeed!
So the texture will emit light even for players who don't have the altered lights.rad? Because it's inside the bsp file, correct?

Yup. When you compile the map it will be that way for everyone, dependent of course on their gamma settings.

Badda Bing, Badda Boom. Orph's still got it
Duly noted. Next Pit iteration should contain such a feature.
