is there anyway to get the texture application to start with .25 instead of 1.00 for the texture size?

none that i am aware of..
i assume the HL2 textures are not 1:1?? HL1 textures were preset to use for real applications mostly.. walls were wall height, floors were.. floors don't count, but you know what i mean.
so no i don't think so.

alright im just kind of confused how the texture part of hammer is all the textures are 512 by 512 but i dont think the scale of maps are that big

This is actually in the main tutorial on the VERC Collective website somewhere, but in Hammer go Tools -> Options... -> Game Configurations tab -> Default Texture Scale, and set it there.

maybe we all are in for a treat, we have never had the luxury of using so many large textures..
and it is nice to know you can preset the size ![]()
