if you're not 6'4" in real life, then things will look smaller when you make them to scale and view them in game.

I came up with a hammer units/ meters conversion by simply taking the height of a player model (72u's) and deviding it by 1.8 meters(average height of a man) and that is 40u's per meter.

PS. Did that a whole while back.

"I do know, however, that HL2 will allow you to change unit-to-world ratios"

Does anyone have more info about this? As a test I made a map of house with 1:1 scale. but CS models won't fit through my actual 30 inch doors... furthermore the rooms feel small.

Is there 1 place as LAzerMANiac aludes to alter the ratio, or am I resizing my map manually??

You can set units through : Map >> Units >> None (default)/Inches/Feet+Inches

I'm thinking that it only changes the actual number within hammer that you see. But, the game has 1:1 built in. (Such as in the status bar at the bottom of the screen ... 4th cell from the right)

Although, you should note that most mods change the world dimensions. I know CS does.

The 1:1 ratio can be changed for any mod.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Yes... I think by that it meant you could change it in the code, which is essentially just changing the size of players, which could be done in HL1.
