First off how in the hell are people joining my map when Im testing it through hammer? Wtf is that all about? Can I stop that? And secondly, I blended my textures with the paint alpha tool in hammer but when the maps compiled it doesnt show up. Any ideas? [addsig]

For the first part, I think you just set sv_lan 1, though whenever I make a server I can never get it unlan anymore.

I've never had that (bar my flatmate joinin)g, but I think it would be a laugh My flatmate joined my test server while it was minimised, and when I returned I found myself surrounded by physics objects

i have the same problem but i dont mind them joining. i ask them if theyd like to see the finished map etc or i just play with whats there.

-maxplayers 1 console command works a treat; yeah you can set a password but that involves you, er, setting a password, when this is just a quick command!

i know that was intended for my benefit, but.. i am getting a bit tired of only one correct answer being marked when there are obviously multiple correct answers.. if an answer is not incorrect, it is correct. this habit needs to stop before i truly get annoyed.

for the sake of the system, it needs to stop.

OMG people join you map and you're pissed, i've been trying to get people join my cs maps for ages and i can't get lan of my server

I was hoping somebody would join mine last night as I wanted to see how the player models show up in my current lighting, but nobody arrived despite the server being up for hours

people are always joining mine! but only have 1 spawn point so you can just stand there and slay them repeatedly until they leave! and when u get bored of that just do the maxplayers 1 - as lep said. if you want people to join ur map - call ur map something amazing like 'dm_hospital'. now that would be a cool level - wards full of people in beds haha, you could shoot them out their beds too! fantastic!

you could use prop ragdoll for people in a morgue, i dont see why you cant set them on some kind of animation loop for patients.........thats a cool idea [addsig]
