I thought that the cmd for this was -dev or something in the expert compile, but also is it ok to run the game after compile now? I remember in the instructions it said do not run game after compile. Thanks.

I'm not quite sure what you want.
Do you mean turning off the weapon model and ammo displays in the game?

Yes, pretty much. And also is it ok to have Hammer exec the game after compiling now?

I've got a quick tip up for this in the editing section - use
"cl_drawhud 0" and "r_drawviewmodel 0" in the console during the game,
AFTER you have turned on cheats with "sv_cheats 1". Its fine to have
hammer launch your game of choice after the compile, but if you have
512mb or RAM or more you might want to just open HL2 or whatever and
keep it minimised in the background while you are mapping since it
takes so long to load.

Heh, I do the opposite quite a bit. (Keep HL2 up while Hammer is running)

Reno, that works, but the way I remember there was one thing you enter in expert compile and you spawn with no gun or anything. Is there another cmd that I could add to those that you told me to make it so you cannot shoot either? Thanks.

Errr, why?
In order to spawn with no gun or anything you would just run the game in single player mode in HL1, but in HL2 that isn't an option given that HL2DM is a seperate program and doesn't run using modes as such. Not sure how you could do it in HL2DM, I've a feeling that the guns are actually completely forced and there is no way to remove them by default to be honest

put a weaponstrip entity on each of your spawnpoints. Then set it to trigger whenever you spawn.
