Now, ive followed the video tutorial at file front, and went in game, and got the same error as this guy did:

http://www.chatbear.com/board.plm?a=viewthread&b=4989&t=373,1104388711,14673&s=0&id=765007#1

But anyway, i noticed in the hammer i kept getting something different rather than a reflective image of the water after using a nodraw brush, and applying a water texture on top.. check it out

Its like a brown small cubed thingy... here it is up close

My pc specs are fine, and de_chateau's water reflection runs fine, i get 60-90 fps in it...

PC Spec

Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB
510 MB Ram
2.42 GhZ CPU Speed
CS:S Runs fine, great FPS...

But whats the damn deal with the brown cubed thing? I mean, is it a setting i have to turn on? Please help me!

Maybe you should compile the map and see what happens?
Or at least show us what's going on ingame.

And the only error that guy has is that VIS and RAD aren't set to run. There aren't any compiling errors in that log. It makes me sad that so many people don't know what a memory leak is.

yeah, i found a leak.. silly me.. didnt study the log right

And i know what a memory leak is.. 48/2 is the default amount of Memory used for a map... basically its stability.. if its below 48/2 ur map is too large, or its oging to run like s**t..

But yeah, i found a leak.. lemme fix this (ill post if nothing changed)

Yeah it was the leak.. Thanks for reminding me of a "leak".. made me check my log a little harder..

And also, there is a funny bug in HL2.. i have to run my maps in full quality on CS:S.. on HL2, it says i have DXv0.9 not DXv9.0 .. i think its a Radeon 9800 Bug? Idk.. I tried editing the settings to what i had in CS:S, but kept putting them on default, think you can help me with that? Could i just edit my config, and force it to what i want? Because HL2, wont let me render cubemaps and stuff.. no reflections, just cheap water and no reflections, yet in CS:S, i get 60-100 FPS when im around a Reflective area.. with my settings on its highest...

Hmm.. idk, but id like to run my games in HL2, rather than CS:S, cuz of all the npc's id like to use... as far as scripting

9800 vanilla or 9800 Pro?

I've got a 9800 Pro...make sure your Windows is updated...and I recommend having a clean install (i.e. use removal tools) of the 4.12 Full release drivers off www.ati.com if you haven't already.

Yeah i got a 9800 Pro, Catalyst Drivers installed.. all my latest drivers installed.. but like i said, i think its a bug with only HL2, not CS:S.. pretty weird..
