The problem seems pretty odd. I had a functional map, everything down was placement. I saved it when I decided to start adding the details. I add details the the map, then I save and compile to see how things look in the game. Here's the problem: when the map is done compiling and I get in, none of the detailed parts are there, only the functional parts are.

I've tried saving it under a different name. I've tried restarting steam. I even tried restarting my whole machine. I'm stumped.

When you compile, ensure that you are using VIS and VRAD - even if they are on fast.

Also go into the options and ensure that your paths are correct.

Are you certain that a new map is actually being created, and that it is not the old map?? If not, post your compile log.

For the VIS control panel, make sure that you have everything selected when you compile. This might not solve your problem, but it's an idea. It has happened to me before, and it was because I turned off detail brushes in VIS control. [addsig]

make sure you have the "put compiled maps in this directory" set to the right one. It's in the compile tab in the options. [addsig]

The 'details' I was referring to were actually new brushes, (I should have said that in the first place) I have VIS and VRAD were already set up.

About the map directory; I got confused when Valve changed up the file structure recently so I'd like some clarification as to which folder actually is the correct one.
