So is the problem fixed???
I haven't tried trains in HL2 yet, but the various other moving entities I have tried to use as lifts or whatever always become very jerky when the player is on them.

Ok here we go.
The problem you have is the same problem we all have that being lifts, trains, ladders, and anything that uses path track etc.
So what is the problem you say!
It is the following, HL2 and HL2DM are near enough the same as fare as any person is conserned but there are slight diffrences between them one being the jerkey lifts and trains, this is cuased by a bug in HL2DM, A bug you say so why doesnt valve fix it, its becuase its not a bug per say but rather a good bug that cuts down on lag during game play online, valve have made HL2DM in a way that when you play you do not view every single frame per second as in HL2 single player so instead you view only some frames as frames are cut out to reduce lag while playing online.
I hope this answers your question.
And no there is not a fix for it yet as far as I am aware of and there probably never will be in HL2DM becuase its had I said its to alow you to play less lag free.
If any of this information is wrong I am really sorry, but I'm pretty sure its all right.
Thank you for reading this post.
Now if you excuse me I must carry on with my HL2DM map dm_heaven.

I think you might be wrong. Im assuming SuperCobra is just testing his map after compiling it, which is what I do. My train isn't laggy or jerky at all as long as I have the 'unblockable by player' flag checked. Now wether or not it's jerky when I throw it up on a CS:S server ... I dunno.
