Well, I was looking at the tire swing tutorial, and got everything that the tutorial said. But after I compiled it, and wen't ingame, the rope was just stretched away from the tree and going through the ground, I no-clipped to where the rope stopped, and there was no tire. Any solutions?

Can I guess that you're trying to do this in CS:S? Was the point the rope was leading to the origin of the map (0,0,0) by any chance?

Well, I'm pretty sure I did. The name, the entity 1, making sure everything had the right name to the right place, etc...

Sounds like the same problem as with Dynamic lights on ropes. CSS has some bug attaching ropes to phys objects. Attaches them to 0,0,0 coordinates of the map instead.

There is a work around, using an entity such as env_spark (with sparks disabled) parented to the object (your tire), and the rope pointing to the env_spark.

Here's a thread where I read this.

I got it working, but it doesn't look as good because the rope acts a little disjointed from the light. It'd probably look fine with a tire though.

If this isn't the same problem you're having then I can't help.
