I am currently working on a map for Team Death Match. I like the way it's going but I know I also want to try the map for Counter-Strike, at least portions of it.

Is is possible to take a map from one Game Type and convert it without recreating the whole thing. For instance, I have a building...with rooms, windows and the like. Can I copy and past that building from Death Match in Hammer to Counter-Strike Source in Hammer.

I understand the textures would go away, or mess up, or whatever. I don't mind retexturing, but I don't want to rebuild the entire map.

Can this be done?

Assuming you have the vmf, then yes, you dont even need to copy and paste, just take the original HL2 DM map, deleted every entity except lights and func_brushes, then save as something else. Then exit out of hammer and open it again in CSS mode, if there are any incopadible ents then it will tell you when you hit alt-p.
