I don't know how, but in hammer I was adding (minus the quotes) "Red Team, get there as soon as you can!" Into a game_text thing and Hammer's hidden the gridlines, and shown the fps! Look:

well, Shift+R makes the grid disappear, looking for the fps thing now

Pressing the "o" key shows the fps.

Sorry to waste time, but I think the fps thing might be useful!
