it's in your sourcesdkbin folder
and it's pretty self explanatory if you just type it at a command prompt and look at the switches. When you run buildcubemaps it automatically stores the .vmt files for the cubemaps in your BSP the same way, except of course you don't have to use this program for that part. ![]()
I found that WinZIP 9 opens up a bsp file and shows you the cubemaps inside... I don't know if you could store custom materials and models in it that way though.

If you open it on command prompt it explains how you add files into the .bsp
Although the discription it still pretty confusing.
bspzip -extract bspfile blah.zip
bspzip -dir bspfile
bspzip -addfill bspfile relativepathname fullpathname newbspfile
bspzip -addlist bspfile listfile newbspfile
Someone care to explain how to use it then? For us newbies.

well shoot. i thought this was like wadinclude.
seems to me, valve has bugs to sort out, they don't have time to release a trademark file compression program.

I thought the same. Actually, I think it is like wadinclude.
I thought you could open up the bsp file and add other files to it.

Hmm, WinRAR actually only seems to be able to open up BSP files less than 1mb. I don't know about WinZIP though. But if you can, it's just the same as adding files to a normal ZIP/RAR file.

Winrar and winzip doesn't open my bsp(900 k )
tried to add a file with bspzip and it says it added my file(i used the -addlist option, and writes "file added" only for one of three files).
However, when i play the map that file lack is evident (it's a vehicle script).
bspzip -list confirms this....

Here's a GUI for bspzip...
http://www.chaosincarnate.net/cannonfodder/cftools.php
I used it to include some custom textures in my new level Riot. My vft and vmt files are located in materialscustom - I just browsed to this directory, then specified "materials" in the prefix field.
Make sure you rename the dir containing your custom stuff before trying to load the level in game - if you can see your custom stuff, you then know it worked.

i prefer the command line version. A quick .bat instruction and all files are re-included every time I want.
