Hello, I am working on a map which seems to lag a lot. I have added area portals to help this but they do not seem to work. I have a house with 3 doors on 3 different rooms (two rooms upstairs).

Here is the second room with the door closed:



And when I open the door it is like nodraw is everywhere until I walk through it:



Another view from the 3ird door:



I loaded point file and I get this crazy line which does not show a leak (does not go through anything just all around)



Anyone?

Also my fence texture (i have fences around the map) flicker a lot but are mostly black all the time:

you need to make the "parent" field on the portal to be tha name of your door entity. so the portal moves with the door. [addsig]

I know that. There is no parent option on the areaportal but I do know what you mean. Link to door or something.

I had this done before so anyone else?

Area portal leak, there is a new kind of leak, its when an area portal doesnt seal correctly, take them out and use hint brushes. Area portals should only be used: on large outdoor maps to turn off areas, and if you are going to have it toggle an area on and off.
edit: and make sure you are not using any texture that was meant for models on brushes (im assuming thats why your fence is flickering)
