Hey, I was wondering if there is a way to make an image that I have a decal instead of a texure. I just want to slap on my image to a wall instead of needing to create another brush and texture it with my picture. Can anyone help?

due to how overwhelmingly difficult i have found it to create my own custom decals i made a very detailed, step-by-step tutorial for the entire process.

http://vertexninjas.com/media/decals/decals_1.htm

hope this helps. wish someone would add it to their information base.

Submit it as a tutorial here then (but link to your current images and I'll upload them for you)

Thanks cman for that tutorial, it worked great even though it was a pretty long and tedious process. [addsig]

perhaps we should make a tutorial, on how to use this site. you'd be surprised how many times someone asks how to submit things

click "control panel" scroll half way down to "add tutorial" pick the mod/game you wish the tut for.

alright, i submitted this as a tutorial. in my search for an answer, i came across tons of people who had problems with this, so hopefully this tutorial will really help a lot of people. especially now that you can compile custom content into your .bsp's.
