It would be really useful if somebody made like a list of what props
are in what folders. I know they're somehwat orgnaized but no
filter option makes it a pain to find some things. I'm still
looking for the toilet.. I'll try to do some of this list, but if
a few people chippd it it wouldn't be hard to do at all.

Yeah, i want one of those too. When i browse around in the model
folders, it takes like 4 secs before all the pictures loaded. And thats
realy frustrating when you don't know exactly what your'e looking for.

I use the following link when I need to get a prop list:
http://www.digital-input.net/other/HL2_model_list.txt
I recommend just using your browser's "find" button on that page. It helps me out because otherwise I end up clicking through every other folder than the one I need.

this is a big help but where do people find the props that I've seen in other maps? For example I was checking out a new counterstrike map in the maps forum called de_position and I see some flowerboxes with these pretty little red flowers
Where do I find those? Also, I think I remember reading a post near the time I first started getting into mapping that I *thought* mentioned being able to use some console commands to see what kind of props things where ingame from the console... am I imagining things?

Other props that you see in maps are from 2 possibilities:
1. they are custom
2. in most cases, they have been taken from a CS: S map, to access these props, like the computers from cs_office, or the flower boxes from de_tides, in your [ROOT]models folder, double click on props. There will be multiple folders from cs_office, de_tides, de_piranesi, all the official CS: S maps, browse through those and you will usually find what you are looking for. [addsig]
