I'm converting all the hl1 textures over to hl2 and i get this from vtex.exe:



PS. Do I have to do this for each and every tga?

PPS. I've tried with its proper name instead of *

I think you'll have have to work in the materialsrc directory of the mod you are currently compiling textures for. So, make two directories called "materials/decals/" and two more called "materialsrc/decals" in your "half-life 2 deathmach/hl2mp/" folder. Then move all your .tgas to the "materialsrc/decals" directory. After that, compile them by moving them to a vtex shortcut without any extra properties.

Look in the console and you'll see that it's where it looks for your images as default. It should work after that.

Where do you put the vtfs so that I can use them in Hammer?

EDIT: Ah, you need to include the vmts too!
