How do i embed custom sounds and textures into my BSP file?

And if i do, how will the map know where they are? i dont quite understand whats going on as ive heard nothing of this until now.

How does it work?

I haven't looked into it at all, but I guess you just use the BSPzip program to put it into your BSP in the same folder structure as it would reside in your base HL2MP folder. So if you were embedding a sound you had put in your directory structure as hl2mp/sound/mapname/soundname.mp3 then you would embedd it in your BSP under sound/mapname/soundname.mp3. I guess

Whats the fascination with multiplayer maps?

Anyways, so if it were for a mod, i would just put it in the same folder, but for my mod?

Well whatever mod you are mapping for then! Most people, myself included, have been making HL2MP maps and so its the first directory that popped into my head But yes, I figure that you embed it in the BSP in whatever directory structure you have the files referenced to above the base mod folder. I could be wrong though, so feel free to correct me if you find out otherwise as I'm only guessing
