I was wondering if someone out there could write a tutorial for getting a SOURCE map ready for distributions and post it here at The SnarkPit. (or at the very least post links to the information for the following)

Topics to cover:
- Including custom sound files in the .bsp (read somewhere were this is possible but can't find the tutorial with google.)

-Including custom textures in the .bsp (HL1 I used wadinclude...what now?)

-Making an "Overview" image for CS:SOURCE and including it in the .bsp

-Final check list?

-Please add any other tips that would ensure that all files needed to play the map makes it to the clients machine.

Thanks to all that have written tutorials for The SnarkPit - they helped jumpstart me on my way to SOURCE mapping!

-Junky

I'm going to work on a large first map tutorial, I'll include this info if no one else makes one.

Today I am trying to solve adding custom sounds. I have read a couple of posts and the tutorial here at Snarkpit. I think I can fiqure out the path issue that the tutorial explained. One thing I noticed at the end of the tutorial is this:

"This tutorial is now obsolete with the advent of the new programs that allow you to embed your sounds into your BSP files."

What are these new programs that allow you to embed in your BSP? I have googled this topic and didn't find anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Junky

Just another thing, include your sig. In other words...make either a custom texture or a custom decal and put it somewhere in your map, maybe somewhere hard for the player to find, sort of as an easter egg. But also for copyright purposes.

Example of sig: "de_mymap created by *name* www.mymapinfo.com"

Heres the snarkpit tutorial for custom decals

and even in knowing you've probably already worked out how to get custom textures working, heres a link.
