I go to open the Source SDK after downloading the new update...and it says its copying files (as expected). So I go to open hammer and I get an error saying...

"The game configuration information for the game you are trying to edit is either invalid of missing"

i can either...
-run anyway
-cancel
-help...(which doesnt do anything)


so when i click on "run anyway" it tell me i need to config hammer, so i do that, i press 'ok' and it says "gameinfo.txt doesn't exist in d:softwarevalvesteamsteamappsfreeman5010half-life 2hl2"


I tried reseting the game configurations in the Source SDK app selection and nothing changed...

im having the exact same problem, tried redownloading too, didnt work

I had the exact same problem. I uninstalled SDK but that didn't work. I just ended up uninstalling everything and deleted the folders, when I reinstalled everything worked fine again

Fortunately I had a copy of the hl2 gameinfo from when I converted some wads, and putting that where it asks makes it work. I don't, however, have the gameinfo.txts for the other configurations...

ok ill try deleting EVERYTHING to do with the sdk, and completely reinstalling it. ill post back soon.

I get the gameinfo.txt thing aswell FFS!!!!

To generate the gameinfo.txt simply start the game up that you're working with (IE, load a singleplayer HL 2 map, or join a game of CS: S). This will only work if you've properly configured hammer, of course, as per the instructions provided by Valve.
