I've been playing around with displacement maps, and I can't get sew to do anything. I have two surfaces of the same power that I want to "stitch" together. Normally I would just put them even and create two displacement maps that line up perfectly, but I'm trying to make a terrace as easily as possible, and this isn't work very well, and it seems like sew would be the easiest way to do this (if it worked the way I assume it works, which it apparently doesn't).
Anyway, the reason I don't want to go into vertex mode and edit the brush that way (line it up, so that I have two even sides to create/use) is because then my texture doesn't aline correctly (it's a cliff face, with a fringe of grass at the top. I could try rotating the texture, but this would screw up a great many things, and probably isn't worth the effort.
Anyway, I'm not really posting to get a problem fixed, per se, as I know how to work around it. I really just want to know how I could use the sew tool.
Thanks for the replies,
