Well, this has been posted about before, but there was no correct answer, so I'm gonna see if anyone can help now:

I want to make the effect in the tunnels along the coast in HL 2 (the blinding light). The effect is also seen in some windows and doors, but it's most noticable in the tunnels. Anyone know how to do this?

have you tried area portal window? you can have it fade out to white as you move farther away from it....

This is done by using values in a env_lightglow. [addsig]
