Okay iv searched 40 pages of the forums now and searched all over Google.. I had a HELL of alot of textures at the beggining of Hammer for CSS (when it first came out), I made 3 maps (didnt release any, just small mess abouts).

Now when i load any of these 3 maps ALL textures (bar a few HL2 ones) are gone, i mainly use CSS textures as these look better in my opinion and i dont want to really bother with custom textures yet as i find it a pain in the arse including them with the BSP (An explaination would be nice if someone knows ).

Anyhow as i was saying till i went off track, most of my textures are GONE, all my CSS textures are gone (ie. Office walls and carpets) and im stuck with the UGLY HL2 textures, for instance there is NO good wood in HL2, so i go to use some Italy wood which is great.. and its gone.

I thought the latest update might of taken them out but i cant find anyone else asking about this and the updates dont mention it, does anyone else have this or is it just me ?. Thank You - Wo33eR

Are you sure that your config in sourcesdk is set for CSS?

are they coming up black?...also i know that there were some errors reported with source sdk.. u might have to reinstal. sdk... make sure u backup ur maps though...

Hmm so that means its only me , im not getting black textures no, i had them.. all the map was textured nicely and now all the main textures = GONE...

I have not changed anything in settings that i know of, can someone please search for me "off" in the browse of textures and tell me if you get any office walls / carpets, if u do then i know clearly its my program and i need to somehow fix it

If someone could possibly link me to screenshots of each page of there settings in Hammer, that would be great . For CSS obviously. Or write it down ?

I FIXED IT ! w00t w00t, i was using a HL2 GameInfo.txt file i downloaded off the net so i just found out how to make my own CSS one.. stupid mistake agreed but god thats dumb how theres not an option for hammer to let u CHOOSE the game, not have to write the dam config urself :S.

There is, when you first open the SDK, and it gives you that window, at the bottom there is a drop-down menu which lets you pick different mods/games. [addsig]

good job man... im curious.. the only reason it was limiting ur textures was becasue u had game files set up for HL2? ...so does this mean when u first started mapping u had it set up with CSS?
