Vtex won't let me compile my sky textures....it says "error initializing file .........sourcesdk_content/cstrike/materialsrc/newyorkBK.tga" for example when i try to compile one of them. The line above it says "height and width must be equal for cubemaps!"
I put the proper .txt files in the folder with the textures as well with the line "skybox" "1" in each one.

the images are 1024x1024, which is why i don't understand...unless you aren't allowed to have sky textures this big...but according to the editlife tutorial, you are allowed to have them this big
