I get this error message everytime I load hammer. I googled it and it said there was an update for it back at December 2...

"Extra App ID set to 211, But no SteamAppId"

Anyone else getting this error when they load up hammer? Is there anything that can be done to fix it?

There is already a thread on this topic.

And there's no good fix yet. You can run the beta version of Hammer for now.

URGENT URGENT!!!!!
Ok so if you go into the gameinfo.txt for whichever mod you're tying to edit in hammer, Go into it and look for where it says ToolsAppsId.
Delete the word Tools, save, and VOILA. Hammer works.
However, you won't be able to browse for world models for things like prop_static. Instead you'll have to type in the individual directory path of the model you're trying to use. IE: hl2/models/props_foliage/treeXX.mdl
Also it won't let you compile.

But at least you can still work on the map.

I tryed that also, it works, but I think its better to use -beta sdk with your steam shortcut to run the beta of hammer.

It might not be perfect, but it works very well. Also if you're tired or they release the official version, you can always remove the -beta sdk. Doing so, hammer gets back to the stable version.
