I have been able to get all my sounds in my map to work except for one. I am trying to get a song to loop in my map. I have used CoolEdit (audio editing software) to cut the size of the song down, to lower the bitrate and to add a cue sheet to loop the sound.

right now the sound is...

3.74 mb in size 8bit, mono, looped and plays for only a minute and 50 seconds or so.

I have tried to trigger the sound, as well as have it just play on its own. and just can not seem to get it to play. I am hoping some one can point me in the right direction...

thanks guys,

MayheM

The sample frequenty needs to be 44100hz or 41.1khz 16bit stereo or mono.

EDIT BY RENO: Changed this to be a suggested answer as it seems to be one. Please use this feature guys! If you are giving an answer to a question, mark it as such!

Mp3's and wave files seem to be 1 meg per minute on average. Your file is nearly twice as large as it needs to be. PLUS, who wants to add 3.7 megs to a map download? I sure hope its relevant to the map. In the old days, people included megs of a WAD file. turns out they only used one texture from the set and people bitched.

Interestingly enough, I have a sound editing tutorial in the works. I think maybe I should kick it in the ass and post it soon.

and Master Reno. I am guilty sometimes of not doing that. Only because 1) I am not sure and 2) because my answers tend to just clutter the search with wrong answers.
