I have tried looking at the tutorials but they make no sense. It
shows in the one i saw that you need to open up a notepad document and
type in some stuff. Is there a way to do it in editor? my map
looks terrible with all my textures streight side by side. Thanks

You can only blend textures on certain textures (EG: with the word
"blend" in it). And it can only be done on displacement surfaces when
those textures are to be used.

Yeah sorry about that tutorial - it was written before the editor had support for it. Should probably go back and update that some day
As Omega said, you can only use blend textures on displacement surfaces, and to do it you use the "paint alpha" option of the displacement settings while using a texture that supports blending (in HL2/CSS, those will be the ones with "blend" in the name).

How do i blend textures like those. When i try blend it just makes it darker. I want them to be together and look realistic not like those. Similar to a dirt path that isnt a block.

I don't really know what you are doing with blending to make anything darker - its not a problem I've come across before I don't think. As such I'm not really sure what to say, other than have a search about and read as many tutorials on the topic as you can to get your head around the process. Here's another link to get you going - it seems like a pretty complete reference for displacement surfaces INCLUDING blending so should be of use to you.

EDIT: Just something to keep note of in the future - try and keep image sizes down as much as possible when posting them. That image you posted was well over 700k, which was far larger than such an image needed. We do have some 56k users around so as a courtesy to them (and others I guess - that image took me a while despite my fast connection!) try and compress them as much as possible before posting. Under 100k is easy to do for most images below 800x600 without losing out on noticeable quality, and free programs like Xat are available to do it. Don't worry about it this time around, but just try and remember for next time, ta
