I am unable to move a phys_hinge in hammer, whenever I do, it
disappears from all of the view screens. I can undo my last move,
but that only makes it appear in the 2-D views, not the 3-D, and my
problem persists.
I know this makes no difference, but still. Am I the only one with this problem?
This is while mapping for HL2, BTW, I haven't tried it with any other games.

Also change the texture of the dock. Docks are rarely tile. -Facepunch

You are in fact not the only one with this problem. I read something similar on the valve wiki. Since the update, a lot of stuff has been acting screwy. Seems the best bet right now is to do an entity-only compile, then reload. If that doesn't work, make a phys_hinge as its' own file, then copy and paste to your map.

Okay, I got it, you can select the hinge, group it, and then you can move it fine.
