Don't think I've seen this before - any chance of a screenshot?

try zooming in, if you are too zoomed out it will do that.

It is not caused by any action I have made, zooming in only amplifys the problem.

Is it possible that you fixed an invalid brush with Hammer's "fix" button? I've seen VHE 3.5 and lower create infinitely long brushes that were "fixes" for invalid ones.

I haven't seen Hammer like that ever before. What G.Ballblue suggests might be the answer for the streched brushes, but not for the f**ked up vertical lines.

"It is not caused by any action I have made."

I posted two pictures to clarify this for you guys, note how in "Untiltled2" there is no object and a totally new map, yet the grid is still messed up... "Untiltled" Shows the effect of the grid upon objects, they are not invalid they are considered and are indeed, valid solid formations. They have not been "fixed" by hammers "fix" feature.

No object, new map.

it looks like yet another display problem in hammer that's been caused by the latest update.

Yeah, they tend to mess up nearly everything with their pointless updates... Any solution to my problem? I've hunted through my settings and I've tried everything and looked at every single guide or forums I can find and there is no where I can find a solution to my problem.
